Good Morning, Brothers and Sisters, today I would like to discuss with you the blessings that I have experience with the Priesthood and how those said blessings have prepared me to be able to serve a mission.
As members of the only true Church we have received the fullness of the everlasting gospel. In D&C 84:17,19 it reads “This greater priesthood administered the gospel.” It “continueth in the church of God in all generations, and is without beginning of days or end of years.” The Priesthood runs the Church and through it the true and living gospel can be found. Without the proper authority and priesthood keys the power that saves men would not be found on the earth. By this authority we can preform priesthood ordicannces such as baptism and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. With the proper authority baptisms are done through the aaronic priesthood for the remission of sins. After baptism, we have an opportunity to renew our covenants and receive a remission of our sins each week when we partake of the sacrament. The sacrament is prepared, blessed, and passed to members under the authority of the Aaronic Priesthood.
All of us who have received the holy priesthood bear the sacred obligation to bless the nations and families of the earth by proclaiming the gospel. And our labors as missionaries are not necessarily confined to the short period of time of two years. Rather, the obligation to proclaim the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is inherent in the oath and covenant of the priesthood into which we enter. You can increase in your desire to serve God, and you can begin to think as missionaries think, to read what missionaries read, to pray as missionaries pray, and to feel what missionaries feel. A priesthood holder is a missionary at all times and in all places. A missionary is who and what we are as bearers of the priesthood.
